"I painted this right after the Uvalde school shooting in Texas in 2022. It broke my heart to see so many little innocent children gone in the blink of an eye and the failure that happened on so many levels. This painting was a response to those roiling, desperate, despairing emotions, praying for the children and adults who were lost, asking them to be "carried home." While this painting was a response to the tragic event, it is also full of hope, peace, and serenity with the calming blue waters and quiet purples, blues, and whites. It is a reminder that all our loved ones are "carried home" to rest in peace. 22" x 28" inches. Acrylic on canvas.
